It's My Life: Diary of a Teenage Girl #2 by Melody Carlson

Updated: Sep 25, 2021

Spoiler-Free Synopsis

In this emotional sequel to Diary of a Teenage Girl, Caitlin O'Conner faces new trials as she grows in her faith and strives to maintain the recent commitments she's made to God. As a new believer, Caitlin begins her summer job and makes preparations for a Mexico mission trip with her church youth group. Torn between new spiritual directions and loyalty to Beanie, her best friend (now pregnant), Caitlin searches out her personal values on friendship, romance, dating, life goals, and key relationships with God and family. Tough choices threaten her progress, and her year climaxes in her realization that maturity sometimes means life-impacting decisions must be made ... by faith alone.

MY REVIEW

I don't really have much to say about this one. I mean, not that it's bad, this book and series so far is really good. We get to know more about Beanie, her situations and what Caitlin thinks of them. But my problem is: Caitlin is a bit of a blabbermouth.

See, we went like 3 chapters with her STILL talking about one certain topic. And it's not like boy problems like in the last book. NO, its something that you could easily get over if you're someone like her. (Homeless kids, yea, you learn more about it if you read it) But still, 3 whole chapters with her literally basically crying over them. Not even talking about fixing it, no, literally just crying about it.

This book is good. The series is good, I just can't wait to meet the next character because I've been in Caitlyn's POV for too long 😭
