The Promise by Chandra Sparks Splond

Spoiler-Free Synopsis

Since she broke up with the hottest basketball player in school, seventeen-year-old Courtland Murphy has been the subject of a million rumors. The fallout from her relationship with Allen Benson has made Courtland more sure than ever that waiting to have sex is the right decision. But the drama's not over, especially with her own father acting strangely and Allen out to make her life hell—with his teammates' help. All except Aidan Calhoun, the new star player who's just moved from Atlanta. Aidan supports her involvement in the Worth-the-Wait club and the upcoming purity ball, and despite vowing to never date another baller, Courtland's falling fast. But can she trust her feelings for someone new when the people she's closest to may not be what they seem?

MY REVIEW

This was REALLY good..

First of all, I like how Chandra allowed Courtland to feel better and want to just move on after the incident. This book is pretty much just about how she overcomes everything. She drops out of cheerleading, and joins basketball, as she discovered that that's one of the few things she enjoys doing. She DID drops charges against Allen, claiming she just wanted to move on with her life: But clearly Allen doesn't want her to.

Allen doesn't want her to move on with her life, if I hadn't addressed that clearly, lol. But basically, him and his friends seem to make her life a living hell. But whilst all of this is happening, she finds one bright light in her life: Aiden.

Aiden is a basketball player, one whom also is aiming on getting into the NBA. He's cute, sweet, kind, trustworthy, and best of all: A loyal virgin. He believes the same thing Courtland does, that they should wait until marriage.

While he is an amazing person, her mother and father have their suspicions, which I don't blame them, and neither does Courtland. Allen had them all fooled, thinking the same things: That he was a cool person. And to be honest, he's pretty much wrecked their trust in others. Her and her parents seem to think that Aiden is exactly like Allen. I mean, they both have A's in their name, come on! Kidding, kidding. Unless....

But I love this book so, so, so much! Aside from a few rushed topics, which I will not mention as it is containing spoilers, I rate this 4 stars!! :))
